School Information

Takamaka Primary school is located in the south of Mahé between Anse Royale and Baie Lazare districts. The school was officially opened in January 1998. It is a two streamed school with an enrolment of 270 pupils.  There are four classes at Crèche and 12 classes from primary one to primary six.

1.      Introduction

Takamaka Primary school is located in the south of Mahé between Anse Royale and Baie Lazare districts. The school was officially opened in January 1998. It is a two streamed school with an enrolment of 270 pupils.  There are four classes at Crèche and 12 classes from primary one to primary six.  The school is well fenced and free from intruders. The school receives pupils from the following catchment areas: Intendance, Anse Forbans, Quatre Bornes, Anse Marie Louise, Anse Coraille, Maravi and Takamaka itself. There are a number of economic activities in the district. These activities are done by the local people who are engaged in fishing, agriculture and home craft.  Some people are also self employed in activities such as take away and as small contractors. There are some tourism facilities such as two five star hotels Banyan Tree Resort & Allamanda Double Tree, and a number of guest houses.

Our goal is to collectively maintain a conducive teaching and learning environment, where all members of staff, pupils, parents and the community are fully engaged and inspired to give their best in order to sustain the high standards.

At Takamaka School we will strengthen pupils’ interest, responsibilities and behaviour and strive to sustain the high academic standard through the use of innovative strategies in a safe and healthy environment. Takamaka will be a school which promotes:
